God knows the way. We may not know why we go through difficulties, but God is always making a way to blessings that we have no clue about. Follow faith not just reason to get through trials and see blessings. You may not see a way through, but God knows way. Simplify our lives to open heart and mind to Spirit's promptings.

Desconsolate; grace and mercy; boldly
Grantsville Stake conf Sept 10, 2017
Hebrews 4:16
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Come, Ye Disconsolate
Thoughtfully
1. Come, ye disconsolate, where’er ye languish;
Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel.
Here bring your wounded hearts; here tell your anguish.
Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot heal.
2. Joy of the desolate, Light of the straying,
Hope of the penitent, fadeless and pure!
Here speaks the Comforter, tenderly saying,
“Earth has no sorrow that heav’n cannot cure.”
3. Here see the Bread of Life; see waters flowing
Forth from the throne of God, pure from above.
Come to the feast of love; come, ever knowing
Earth has no sorrow but heav’n can remove.
Text: Thomas Moore, 1779–1852. Verse three, Thomas Hastings, 1784–1872
Music: Samuel Webbe, 1740–1816
Weakness vs sin
Blessing of mortality vs selfish, self centered, rationalized behavior against God
Sin can cause injury.
Living in Babylon vs living in Zion
Kenneth Cole song "Broken"
LyricsBroken
Kenneth Cope
Broken clouds give rain Broken soil grows grain Broken bread feeds man for one more day Broken storms yield light The break of day heals night Broken pride turns blindness into sight Broken souls that need His mending Broken hearts for offering
Broken hearts for offering
Could it be that God loves broken things Broken chains set free Broken swords bring peace Broken walls make friends of you and me To break the ranks of sin To break the news of Him To put on Christ till His name feels broken in Broken souls that need His mending Broken hearts for offering I believe that God loves broken things And yet, our broken faith, our broken promises
Sent love to the cross
And still, that broken flesh, that broken heart of His Offers us such grace and mercy Covers us with love undeserving This broken soul that cries for mending This broken heart for offering I'm convinced that God loves broken me Praise His name—my God loves broken things So, broken cloud—Give rain And broken soil—Grow grain And broken bread—Feed man for one more day

Elder Ballard
Elder Ballard recounted the advice that Elder Perry wanted the people of the Church to hear. “[I wish I] could get every member of the Church to go and partake of the sacrament, and when they took the bread, they’d ask themselves, ‘Who am I? What am I doing? How am I living? Where am I going? What should I be accomplishing?’ as they renew their covenants with the Lord.” He finished, “The minute they’d pick up the bread, something [would] happen.”

Focusing on Joy
The elevator at the COB today had a sign that said " joy is powerful and focusing on joy brings God s power into our lives." Need to equate "joy" with "blessings"more often

Faith to not be healed
Sacrament meeting Riverside1 Ward, Saratoga Springs, Utah
Speaker relates that a friend of his, when traveling with Elder Oaks , heard Elder Oaks asked someone he was about to give a blessing to, "Do you have the faith to not be healed."
I can accept the Lord's will, His timing.
