Have I trimmed my lamp?
Power of godliness. is manifest
Covenant path
Temple
Oil lamp must have wick trimmed for good flame. All virgins in parable had trimmed their wicks, but some did not bring oil.
Covenant relationships
When we are consistently praying morning and night, studying our scriptures daily, having weekly family home evening, and attending the temple regularly, we are actively responding to His invitation to “come unto Him.” The more we develop these habits, the more anxious is Satan to harm us but the less is his ability to do so. Through the use of these tools, we exercise our agency to accept the full gifts of His atoning sacrifice. I am not suggesting that all of life’s struggles will disappear as you do these things. We came to mortal life precisely to grow from trials and testing. Challenges help us become more like our Father in Heaven, and the Atonement of Jesus Christ makes it possible to endure those challenges. Richard G Scott

Anthony Sweat- we need the endowment. connection. protection
Endowment is a power. A gift of spiritual power. Power to overcome all evil.
Endowed w power from on high.
Blessings of the fathers : I, Abraham, saw that it was needful for me to obtain another place of residence; 2 And, finding there was greater happiness and peace and rest for me, I sought for the blessings of the fathers, and the right whereunto I should be ordained to administer the same; having been myself a follower of righteousness, desiring also to be one who possessed great knowledge, and to be a greater follower of righteousness, and to possess a greater knowledge, and to be a father of many nations, a prince of peace, and desiring to receive instructions, and to keep the commandments of God, I became a rightful heir, a High Priest, holding the right belonging to the fathers.
Mysteries of heaven.
Covenants protect and connect. Section 138. Fathers to children. Children to fathers. Connect us w those who have gone before us. THE priesthood is Elijah s sealing power.

Strengthening youth requires effort
Help youth recognize tender mercies as they happen.
From Elder Newman, Oct 2023:
about the parable of the wise man who built his house upon a rock. According to the account in Luke, as the wise man laid the foundation for his house, he “DIGGED DEEP” It wasn’t a casual or simple endeavor—it took EFFORT!
To build our lives on the rock of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ, we need to dig deep. We remove anything that is sandy or superfluous in our lives. We keep digging until we find Him. And we teach our children to bind themselves to Him through sacred ordinances and covenants so that when the oppositional storms and floods come, as they surely will, they will have little effect upon them “because of the rock upon which [they] are built.”
This kind of strength doesn’t just happen. It is not passed on to the next generation like a spiritual inheritance. Each person must digabout the parable of the wise man who built his house upon a rock.
